We’re Gene and Katie Hamilton, the creators of BringBinoculars.com and we’re happy to have you join us. As a writer and photographer, we’ve been using binoculars for as long as we can remember. We are members of Outdoor Writers Assn. of America and authors of Coastal Cruising Under Power (McGraw Hill) and Practical Boating Skills (Hearst Marine Books.)

Chesapeake Bay Road Trip is our new travel guide about visiting the 36 small harbor towns and cities on the shores of Chesapeake Bay. Just released in January, the paperback and ebook feature lots of pictures, information, and maps of the 36 destinations along the way. We’re working on expanding Chesapeake Bay Road Trip now and look forward to revisiting some of our favorite places like Virginia’s Eastern Shore and the Small Harbor Towns in Maryland which we covered here.

A bit of history

Earlier in our careers we developed Housenet and Diy 0r Not websites based on our long-running syndicated newspaper column by Tribune Publishing.

Some of our home improvement books include Fix it and Flip It (McGraw Hill) and a series of Home improvement for Dummies(c).

Over the years we’ve been honored as award winning writers and authors for our books and magazine articles by Boating Writers International and NAREE, the Assn. of Real Estate Editors.

We began our writing for how-to magazines like Family Handyman while working on fixer-uppers which led to books about home improvements. Our interest in boating led to writing for magazines like Cruising World and Chesapeake Bay.

Over the years we made a pivot from how-to writing to go-to writing which is what we’re doing today concentrating on U.S. East Coast harbor towns.
